Explanation
謙譲語 humbles your own actions toward a superior. Patterns: お〜する/いたす, special verbs (いたす, もうす, うかがう, はいけんする, いただく).
Formation: お + ます stem + する (持つ becomes お持ちする), 〜いたす for humble politeness, and special verbs (参る for 行く and 来る, 申す for 言う, いただく for 食べる and もらう, 拝見する for 見る, 存じる for 知る).
Usage & nuance: 謙譲語 lowers your own actions to show respect to the listener. Use it when you act toward a superior or a customer, as in 私がご案内いたします. It never describes the other person actions; doing so sounds wrong and can be rude.
Compare: 謙譲語 vs 丁寧語. 丁寧語 just makes a sentence polite (行きます), while 謙譲語 actively humbles the speaker (参ります). Choose 謙譲語 in business and service settings.
